Hoi An - Wietnam 2003 r. (2)

Rosnące chwasty na dachu starych domków, to też tylko w Hoi An.
Weed growing in the roof of an old house. It happens only in Hoi An.

Słynny japoński most pod dachem (i z wietnamskimi motywami), łączący część bardziej reprezentatywną (turystyczną) z mieszkalną miasteczka. Obok dobudowano pomieszczenie urządzone po chińsku. Opowiadno mi o symbolice, które noszą detale architechtoniczne tego mostu, czyli liczba przedziałów, figurki zwierząt, ale niestety wszystko już zapomniałem.
It's a famous Japanese roofed bridge, and with motifs of traditional Vietnamese architecture. It connects the more representative part (and prefered by turists) with a part where most of local people live. In the middle of the bridge Chinese people built a room just next to the main road and decorated it in Chinese way. I was told about a lot of symbols which brings every detail of the bridge (the number of the section, animal figures...). But unfortunately I remember nothing. Let's just say it's all mixed:-)

Środek miesiąca księżycowego wystawiono ołtarzyki i palono kadzidło. To dla przodków i pomyślności. Także 14. dnia w mieście wyłączono elektryczność i zapalono lampiony. To dla turystów.
At the middle of a month (in a Chinese moon calendar) people of Hoi An bring a small table with fruits and foods in front of their houses. Incenses are bunrt. As well as fake money. It is for ancestors, for good luck. Also 14th day of the month the electric light are turn off and the red paper lamps were lighted. It's for the tourists.
